Mighty Pine
I love exploring Colorado. I love the way that nature strolls lead to me smelling so many unique things. Considering we center around the “Fortress” with the emphasis on the natural realm it is only fitting we explore this essential oil.
Here in this rugged land we have many pines. Oh my lan! I have learned the expansive volume of pines which make up our pine population. There are over 200 variations. Why Not!?!
Pine surprisingly enough has little tidbits of helping properties. Besides its large appearance on Pine-sol ads, pine has an array of benefits.

So many treatments do seem to be geared for respiratory conditions as well as joint/muscular health. Here are a few recipes to consider that I use. Also, I am a Young Living user so I do utilize the Pine oil (Pinus Sylvestris) they distill. I love the oils mixed in my homemade lotion or with another carrier oil. It is very grounding for me.
~ Add several drops of Essential oil to Epsom salts. (5-10 drops per 1/4cup)
Allow to sit for several days for full effect.
Mix in warm bath water.
Never just drop oils into water as the oil does not mix, it sits on top of the water.
Pine definitely needs a carrier oil or the salts.
~Diffuse 3-5 drops (start lower to acclimate if need be) in water.
Use a home diffuser according to diffuser instructions.
You can also pour a hot cup of water and allow 1-2 drops into the water.
Sit near water or with towel over your head and your face over the cup to enjoy or sit further to avoid further overwhelming challenge in use.
~If you are feeling worn you can also try a bath.
Mix equal parts dried lavender and pine needles.
Boil for 15 minutes and then strain.
Add other desired oils, that have been blended with Epsom salt, for your enjoyment.
Mix in with bath water.
As always, be safe when using oils and herbals.
Many Yew trees resemble pines but are not and can be toxic.
