Happy COVID Gut

Matthew 6:25-26

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life not more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you much more valuable than they?

Working through all this COVID-19 business has shed some new light.

In my reading, the medical community continues to shed light on the challenges faced in treating patients in the hospital. We have changed many treatments for patients but now there appears to be more of a streamlined treatment plan being birthed. In the hospital we have been attempting to support the gut more and more.

The previous loss of gastric support has fueled this new aggressive COVID process. We need to remember to support the gut in all it has to offer. It is, after all, our second brain. The gut supports SOOOOOO many processes we cannot even fathom. Support is one of our best option to maintain optimal health and healing.

What we can do:

Stress Reduction: This seems redundant and it will continue to be a topic of emphasis. Stress enzymes cause continuous flare ups in the gut, thus causing issues of proper absorption of nutrients and loss of body support. Also it provides opportunity for other issues to arise like autoimmune issues, allergies or new chronic conditions.

Probiotics: Support your healthy gut with these guys. They reintegrate those naturally supportive enzymes and make way for your body to regenerate properly. These are best taken as live enzymes. They ensure proper implementation in a timely manner.

Manage the Diet: Sometimes an elimination diet can offer insight into which foods can be harmful to your body make up. It can be a challenge but quitting and slowly restarting on a healthier level will give you the proper insight you need to be a better version of you.

Minty Fresh: Peppermint has been studied and is proven to provide symptom relief with IBS and can support proper circulation in the gut. It may be taken in an Essential oil capsule or in a tea. Remember to research proper ingestion techniques. Do not take an Essential oil in water and drink.

Exercise: Strengthening your core supports the structures supporting the gut. This in turn decreases internal stressors and supports internal circulation of enzymes.

Your body already knows this is a team effort! When we support one area we show cohesiveness for the whole. Ensure you have a good fighting chance at what the world and these viruses have. COVID is attacking the gut too. Make sure you support your gut and kick COVID out!
