Liquid allergy treatment
My neighbor reminded me of using pineapple for allergens. I didn’t look too deep into it but I created a concoction of my own and man did it help. It helped my morning mucus and helped to boost my symptoms.
Ingredients:
Pineapple (I used the core and the meat) about 1 cup
Lime (I squeezed some in and boiled the rind) half a small ball
Fresh Sage (cut into large pieces) approx. 1 tbsp
Ginger (Peeled and cut into large pieces) approx. 2 tbsp
Honey (to sweeten) 1 tbsp
(optional) Apple Cider vinegar 1-2 tsp
I cut all ingredients and placed them into a small pot to boil. I boiled for approximately 10-15 min.
Pour through a strainer. Allow to cool. Sweeten with honey to desired taste. I drink this hot but you can drink it cool.
I loved this. It was light and airy. Also after 2 days of drinking it I can say I feel so much better. My nasal mucosal secretions diminished greatly.
Here is just a run down of a few benefits:
Pineapple: improving the mood, relieving anxiety, boosting the immune system, improving metabolism, reducing inflammation.
Lime: beneficial in flushing the system from toxins.
Sage: beneficial in decreasing inflammation and toxins.
Ginger: beneficial in everything! It is an antioxidant, an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and an aid to ease stomach pain.
Honey: beneficial in antioxidation, antibiotic, phytonutrient (which helps fight infection), wound healing, cough soother/suppressant. Remember to use local honey to get local allergen benefits. DO NOT indulge in commercialized honey.
Apple Cider Vinegar: beneficial in boosting the immune system, managing mucus production, supporting lymphatic drainage.
Try this concoction. If you have any allergens to any ingredients, simply take that ingredient out and use the rest. See how it can benefit you in your allergy seasons and symptoms. It is oh so delish!
