We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy according to your faith; if it is to teach, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

Romans 12:6-8

My dining room chair cushions frayed to the max. They frayed so much that my kids slowly peeled layers off of each chair. The time came to reupolster each chair. I bought fabric and had some left over after completing the project.

In the eyes of 2 kids on summer break, the excess became an opportunity for creativity. Black Panther gained a new cape. Finn from star wars now has new clothes. Captain America has a new hat. Fantastic creativity.

When we open our mind to creativity we open our mind to opportunity. We can express deepest desires when we open our simple minds. No complexity needed.

Take yourself to the mind of childhood creativity. Draw an abstract picture, create fun in the kitchen, skip outside, try to whistle a long tune. It doesnt matter. Have fun with it! Freeing our mind of cluttered judgement will aide in healing imposed stress.

I read a diabetes magazine with a unique recipe. I completed the recipe and felt like I accomplished a culinary masterpiece while quenching my basic need to eat. Try it on for size:

  • Cut an apple into circular cuts. Remove the center. (Adult task)

  • Spread melted peanut butter and drop chocolate chips and eat

    or

  • Spread yogurt and drop on raspberries or blackberries.

    ENJOY

There is joy in simple accomplishments.

Optimized!
