Bravery

Courage is the most important of all virtues because without courage, you can’t practice any other virtue consistently.

Maya Angelou

My oldest child had a performance at school. He was excited and rocked his part. He said he was so nervous but he did so well to fight fears and perform with style.

We had empty seats next to us in the auditorium, so a young girl sat next to our small group. Her mom was a row or 2 back. She had extra seats next to her also. She sat next to our group. She was solo and brave. Even when I told her she could have her family join she said she was ok to sit alone.

Now I don't know her back story but I admired this little girl (circa age 5 or 6). She sat tall and alone and enjoyed the show.

Sometimes what we need to do in life is sit tall alone and brave. Embrace the challenges with the bravery of a young child. Their minds are usually untainted by the worries of social acceptance.

Love yourself. Be yourself. Accept yourself. Find your childlike bravery. It will balance you.
